• Lead Marketing Specialist

  • Overview

    Leads and executes marketing for our $5 million technology and training startup organization which was recently spun-off division from a 300-person consulting firm.  This position will lead the branding efforts for our two business units, devise and execute social media strategies, and conduct and execute marketing campaigns.


    Reports directly to the Operations Director, with dotted line to both Unit Directors.


    Location:  Arlington, VA or Blacksburg, VA; can work remotely up to 2 days per week


    • Advanced ability to evaluate, design, and implement advertising, email and general marketing campaigns
    • Drive and manage email process, including template creation, list segmentation, and copywriting to both nurture and grow our audience
    • Maintain marketing database and conduct day-to-day marketing tasks, including list/data management to ensure data quality.
    • Partner with business unit leads and the CEO to define key metrics of marketing initiatives and ensure that key performance metrics for campaigns are being tracked
    • Create and coordinate marketing content, including premium content such as e-books, blogs, and case studies showcasing our capabilities
    • Manage and execute digital marketing strategies, including but not limited to web content, social media, social content, and PPC/social advertising
    • Develop brands for training and talent pipeline business units
    • Direct creative design staff and vendors
    • Plan and execute media relations and public relations efforts via vendor or internally
    • Develop and write landing pages as needed for the website via vendor or internally

    • Strong Writer/Communicator. Able to accurately and effectively communicate results from marketing activities and high degree of professional, creative, and technical writing/proofreading ability.
    • Experience with B2B and B2C campaigns is preferred.
    • Portfolio/Writing samples are preferred.
    • 3+ years Marketing experience strongly encouraged
