  • Overview

    Our startup organization is a recently spun-off division from a 300-person consulting firm.  This position is the leading voice to establish us in targeted tech and education communities as the premier builder of early career technology talent.  Introduces our unique mentor-student software delivery model to new clients seeking to build their technology workforce.  This position seeks and establishes strategic alliances between our southwest Virginia software development centers (VT and soon Radford) and corporate partners, local tech organizations, state and local entities, student organizations, and universities.  This position also oversees some of our office operations, including student advancement.

    Reports directly to the Center Director(s).


    Blacksburg, VA; can work remotely up to 40% per week, as job responsibilities require.


    • Target prospect organizations
    • Develop messaging, campaigns, and events to introduce them to our model
    • Devise approaches for how to generate inbound client interest
    • Envisions partnerships that advance our business interest and showcase our culture and abilities
    • Strengthen our on-campus presence and with university administration and student organizations
    • Plays active role in local meetups
    • Develops relationships with state and local entities committed to workforce development
    • Involved with students and their activities within our organization
    • Strengthens the culture within the office
    • Manages internal projects to support function of the center

    This new startup is a spinoff from Excella, which is a technology consulting firm serving commercial, non-profit, and federal clients in the Washington, DC area.  Our new organization has two business units:
