• Events Support Staff (Part-Time)

    Excella is currently seeking an organized, detailed-oriented Events Support Staff member to supplement event coordination at its conference, training center (the ATX), and front desk duties at its HQ office.     The Events Support Staff member will work with the Facilities team and will report to the Facilities Manager.

    This is a part-time, 5-20 hours/week, non-exempt role. The Events Support Staff member will be required to flex their schedule, as needed, to staff various events during the day and evening and on occasion on the weekends. Some travel around the DC/NOVA metro area may be required. The Events Support Staff member may also be required to cover front desk operations at Excella as needed.

    We are seeking a capable team member to help us maintain Excella’s event space and reception area and ensure the best experience possible for our staff and customers!


    • Conduct setup and teardown for events, including moving/lifting tables and chairs, and catering
    • Perform daily maintenance and inventory of basic meeting room equipment such as speaker phones, tables and chairs, projector screens, lighting and video recording equipment
    • Keep Excella’s event space (the ATX) clean and organized, including loading and emptying dishwasher, deep cleaning of surface areas and glass walls/doors etc.
    • Restock inventory of supplies as needed
    • Greet visitors and provide information as requested
    • Support events at other locations in the DC/NOVA metro area on occasion
    • Ad hoc duties as assigned

    The Events Support Staff member may need to occasionally support front desk operations at Excella HQ. These responsibilities may include:

    • Welcome visitors and alert relevant point-of-contact of their arrival
    • Receive telephone call inquiries and handle appropriately
    • Practice established security procedures, monitor visitor logbook and issue relevant access badges
    • Maintain a clean, professional and well stocked reception area
    • Stock and maintain eating and coffee bar areas throughout Excella’s spaces
    • Set up conference rooms daily and assist in scheduling conflicts
    • Accept deliveries and organize mailing services for office personnel
    • Submit work order requests to building maintenance and vendors
    • Ad hoc duties as assigned


    • Experience working in a facilities or event management capacity
    • Experience working in sales a plus
    • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite
    • Strong customer service skills
    • Strong verbal and written communications skills
    • Must be able to lift up to 75lbs
