• SaaSOps Engineer (Remote/Flexibility)

  • Overview

    Excella is hiring a SaaSOps Engineer to take on ownership, management, and continuous improvement of our complement of SaaS Apps. In this position you'll be charged with deploying, consolidating, securing, and automating our SaaS applications. The SaasOps Engineer will be involved in product evaluation, assist in managing SaaS costs, and work cross-functionally with other teams at Excella to ensure their SaaS apps are properly managed.

     

    We are seeking someone with proven experience in building excellent SaaS environments who has the capability of independently leveraging APIs to build advanced integrations, experience with SSO solutions to enhance security, and familiarity with automation tools to simplify application provisioning and permissions.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide “white glove service” with empathy and understanding.
    • Engage with stakeholders as a partner to provide feedback and find ways to help achieve roadmap goals.
    • Use your programming knowledge to automate mundane, boring and manual tasks to enable teams across the organization to work on more engaging projects.
    • Work closely with the IT Security Team on projects intended to keep employees and data secure without creating points of friction for end users.
    • Develop, construct, test and deliver innovative solutions which eliminate the pain points of IT and the business.

    6 Month Expectations

    • Conduct an audit of our current SaaS app usage to build a comprehensive database of managed and unmanaged apps.
    • Work with teams across the org to consolidate administration of corporate SaaS apps.
    • Evaluate the feasibility and level of effort involved in bringing any SaaS apps not on our SSO provider into compliance, and execute on these changes when appropriate.
    • Work with Internal, Markets and CTIO teams to improve automation of SaaS account creation/removal to improve onboarding/off-boarding/transfer experience for all involved.
    • Evaluate usage of current SaaS products to identify and execute on improvements across all categories including security, feature sets, usability, and cost control.

    12+ Month Expectations

    • Contribute to creation or modification of a framework for evaluating, selecting, and deploying new SaaS apps within our infrastructure.
    • Develop materials or programs for training and evangelizing our preferred SaaS app solutions.
    • Document configuration of critical SaaS apps and develop backup and recovery plans.
    • Facilitate cross-training within teams on SaaS app management.
    • When necessary, utilize built-in integration capabilities and/or API access to build advanced automations and integrations between SaaS apps and other systems like Slack and Office 365.

    Qualifications

    • A problem solver with a passion for identifying and owning projects that solve manual work not only for IT but across the organization.
    • Seasoned SaaSOps professional with deep understanding of IdP, SCIM and API integrations.
    • Team player who has a drive to connect with people, can decipher their problems and solution for them to boost efficiency and earn trust
    • Someone who is always asking “How can we do this better? How can we improve?” And does not lean on the status-quo.
    • Experience deploying and maintaining SSO solutions like JumpCloud.
    • Experience working in small, agile, results-driven teams where everyone is a contributor.
    • Curious and self-motivated with an innate desire to fix and optimize systems.
    • Specific work in the past with Office 365 administration is a must.
