Overview

IT Project Managers at Excella possess a variety of project management skills and manage projects of different sizes and objectives. Our IT Project Managers take an Agile approach where possible, focusing on high-value activities, interacting frequently with customers and stakeholders, and being flexible and adaptive; they work collaboratively, are highly accountable for their team’s work, and take responsibility for their client’s success.  Excella's IT Project Managers coordinate delivery of work products, coordinate project planning activities, and track progress and risk. They perform the analysis, review, development, test and inspection of business process improvement, program management, solution implementation and strategic re-engineering efforts. They apply broad management skills and business expertise to lead complex, large projects in delivering client solutions or to manage the operations of multiple Excella projects. They work with client executives to facilitate organizational change and lead clients through business transformation efforts.

Responsibilities

Our IT Project Managers are required to perform the following activities (among others):

  • Provide project management support activities including project planning, project scheduling, and status reporting
  • Coordinate development of new systems and / or applications
  • Provide programmatic recommendations to clients and stakeholders
  • Liaise between various stakeholder groups
  • Prepare and present briefing materials and reports
  • Provide IT Subject Matter Expertise
  • Identification of Automated Test Tools and other ALM tools for project management and Agile processes and transformation.

Qualifications

  • Requires Active Secret Clearance (preferred)
  • Navy Veteran (preferred)
  • Experience with the Federal Government, Federal PMO experience is a plus
  • Experience with one or more of the following areas: acquisition program management, budget and financial management, capital planning and investment control, configuration management, earned value management, enterprise architecture, performance measures and metrics, project management, risk management
  • Requirements Management
  • Causal Analysis
  • Experienced, proven, or emerging Agile CSM, PMP, and Security+ certified Agile with experience in SDLC, process improvement, and IV&V.  Example just received CSM or Excella will provide professional development.
  • Experience with one or more IT project management methodologies (e.g. waterfall or Agile methodologies) 
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation)
  • Excellent organizational skills and detail orientation
  • Strong analytical aptitude, and ability to structure and quantify complex or undefined business problems
  • Ability to interact with senior level clients
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • PMP credential is a plus

  • Years of experience:
    The requirements for the IT Project Manager is a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Information Systems, Engineering Business, or related scientific/technical discipline and 5 years of experience. Alternate is if they have no degree, 9 years of experience, or an Associate degree with 7 years of experience.
